Maranoa Club: Connection for Younger Onset Dementia

BASSCARE’s Maranoa Club embraces the journey of those living with early onset dementia, along with the family and friends who walk beside them. Caregivers discover encouragement and dementia support for families, while participants enjoy activities designed to reflect their age, interests and spirit. Every experience is shaped to foster belonging, purpose and joy.

At My Place — the weekend drop-in program at Maranoa Club — carers and loved ones can spend time together in a familiar, welcoming space. Here, participants benefit from compassionate care for dementia while enjoying moments of laughter, activity and connection beyond the four walls of home.

Carer Support

Because We Care for Carers Too
Caring for someone at home is often the quiet, unrelenting work of spouses, children and friends. When that person is living with dementia, the demands can feel overwhelming and isolating. That’s why BASSCARE provides dedicated dementia carer support pathways, including dementia carer support groups where experiences can be shared, strategies exchanged and strength rediscovered.

These dementia support groups run monthly across multiple locations, ensuring support is always close by. For carers, they offer both help with dementia challenges and the chance to rebuild balance in everyday life.

Our Program Provides:

  • Welcoming spaces for carers to pause, reflect and connect
  • Guidance from peers and BASSCARE’s Dementia Advisors
  • Practical strategies for communication and behaviour management
  • The reassurance of dementia respite during meetings so carers can participate fully
